Recipe Time! Chipotle Brownies
As some of you may know, I’m on a continuing quest to find ways to use up leftover chipotle peppers (the canned ones in adobo sauce). Even after using them in the original dish I needed them for, making chipotle butter, and chipotle ranch, I still had some left. It was time to expand my thinking. Since the combination of chocolate and spicy is a popular thing now, I turned my mind to dessert. Now, I may have mentioned before (though I’m too lazy to actually go back and check) that I’m not the biggest fan of brownies. I know, I know…I don’t know what’s wrong with me. But in this case brownies seemed like the perfect subject to turn to for my chipotle experiments. Actually considering I’m kind of a weenie when it comes to spicy it’s somewhat surprising that I’m the one who came up with these brownies. And that I actually like them! But the chipotle adds a nice subtle, smoky kick without setting your mouth on fire. So I guess the point you should take away from this is that if someone who isn’t a huge fan of brownies or spicy likes these brownies they must be really good.

The Cereal Report: Cocoa Puffs With Stars
The Cereal Report is a column in which PCFG conducts various cereal reviews, of new or limited products, as well as providing brief backgrounds on the cereal. Cereal is delicious and fairly cheap as far as meals go. Everyone should eat cereal!
Cocoa Puffs is one of those cereals that we sort of take for granted, since it’s been around forever. Originally created by General Mills in the 1950s, it’s been around for over half a century. Probably everyone has had a bowl or two in their lives. It’s nothing fancy, just chocolate-flavored corn puffs. Interestingly enough, there really hasn’t been much evolution or many special editions of Cocoa Puffs, for at least the time I’ve been alive. But lo and behold, General Mills put out a new, limited edition (I think?) version of the cereal for the first time in a long time, called Cocoa Puffs With Stars. I say “I think” because it doesn’t really explicitly state it. It just sorta claims they’ll be orbiting Earth for a short time, or something, on the box.
Pizza Lab #26: Peanut Butter Cup Pizza
Chocolate and peanut butter, peanut butter and chocolate – it’s one of the world’s best flavor combinations to ever come into creation. The first person to combine the two should have won a Nobel Prize for their work towards bettering the Earth. Now, considering that Erik and I both love the peanut butter/chocolate combo and pizza, it’s kind of surprising it took us almost two years of doing Pizza Labs to make a peanut butter cup pizza. Luckily the wait is now over because for February that’s exactly what we decided to do.
We agreed early on in the month that we should do a dessert pizza in honor of Valentine’s Day. Considering it was one of our newest ideas, we pretty quickly settled on the peanut butter cup pizza. Also it has a lot of chocolate and chocolate and Valentine’s Day goes together. A combination (pizza and peanut butter cups) with a flavor combination (chocolate and peanut butter) that we love in honor of Valentine’s Day. What could be more perfect?
Cheat Codes: Homemade Hot Chocolate & Hot Cocoa
As everyone in northeastern America is aware now, it’s preeetty freaking Winter outside. There’s several feet of snow on the ground in a lot of places around here and it’s gonna be a while before those disgusting grey-colored snow mountains in parking lots disappear. And yet we still have another month left of this shit, unfortunately. But hey, don’t let that get you down. Make some hot chocolate! It’s good for you!*
