The Cereal Report: Jif Peanut Butter Cereal

The Cereal Report is a column in which PCFG conducts various cereal reviews, of new or limited products, as well as providing brief backgrounds on the cereal. Cereal is delicious and fairly cheap as far as meals go. Everyone should eat cereal!

I’ve covered peanut butter cereal before, and as mentioned I am an ardent fan of peanut butter. I eat it on ice cream, in milkshakes, on toast, on pancakes, you name it. So this one took me by surprised when I went into the supermarket for a routine visit, last week:

The Snack Report: Mission Tortilla Triangle Chips

The other day Erik and I were at the grocery store, shopping for supplies for dinner.  We were going to make nachos (more on that to come later).  As we strolled down the chip aisle we made a horrific discovery: tortilla chips are stupidly expensive.  Even on sale they were more than we thought they should be.  Wondering what to do, we decided to check out the aisle that had tortillas, thinking maybe we would have to make our own.  That was where we found the Mission tortilla chips (they also have rounds and strips, but we chose the triangles).

Cheese Review: Drunken Goat

For a blog run by people who love cheese so much, it’s been far too long since there’s been a cheese review.  Well today I shall end that drought with a review of Drunken Goat.  I first tried drunken goat back in December of last year, and it quickly became one of my favorite cheeses.

The Snack Report: Chips Ahoy! Birthday Frosting Filled Cookies

Last week I reviewed one of Chips Ahoy!’s new chewy filled cookie flavors – Oreo crème filled.  This week I’ll take a look at the second new flavor – Birthday Frosting.  From the outset we were more skeptical of this flavor.  Frosting can be a wonderful thing, but many times mass produced frosting is filled with chemicals and just tastes weird and fake.  So we didn’t have much hope for the frosting that filled these cookies.  But we tried them anyway, for you, dear readers (and also just because we really like cookies).

The Snack Report: Chips Ahoy! Oreo Crème Filled Cookies

While at the grocery store the other day, picking up ingredients for dinner Erik and I stumbled upon an end cap of Chips Ahoy! cookies.  Included were Oreo crème filled, and birthday frosting filled chewy Chips Ahoy!  Intrigued by all things new in the cookie world, we knew we had to check these out.  First up for trial, the Oreo crème filled cookies.
