Smoothie Sunday: Cherry Watermelon Smoothie
Other years I’ve put a lot of thought into my smoothie combinations. This year since I don’t have as big of a fruit supply at my ready it’s been a bit more slapdash. But I’ve still been able to put together some good smoothies! This week we have a lot of watermelon to work through and some cherries I want to eat before they go bad and thus the cherry watermelon smoothie was born. Watermelon smoothies are always a lot thinner than the other smoothies I usually make due to their high water content so keep that in mind when putting it together.

The Apartment Starter Kit #1: Introduction and Deciding If It’s Time to Move Out
As we mentioned earlier on the blog, both myself and Meg A. moved into a new apartment together recently! As such we figured it was a great opportunity to share our experience and turn it into some classic, thrifty knowledge on how to go about life while living on the cheap. Consider this first post an introductory to our newest column: The Apartment Starter Kit! We’ll take you through the initial decision-making process and some big things you need to consider before you start looking on Zillow!
Smoothie Sunday: Mango Cherry Smoothie
Cherries and mango are two very common (and yummy!) fruits which you wouldn’t normally think would go well together. Recently, I found myself with some leftover cherries after baking a pie, and decided I wanted to make a smoothie with them. At first I wasn’t sure what to combine them with, but I decided to give mango another shot at Smoothie Sunday. Thus the mango cherry smoothie was born.

The Cereal Report: Strawberry Tiny Toast
So by now I’m sure everyone and their mom has heard that General Mills brought back the much-beloved French Toast Crunch about two years ago, and I’m happy about it for the most part. (Though honestly, the cereal tends to be a little bit pricey, so sadly I haven’t been eating it as much as I’d like to.) In the last year, the big GM released two new cereals in a brand new subline known as Tiny Toast, in what I assume is mostly an effort to justify keeping manufacturing French Toast Crunch, since the machine that produces tiny little toast-shaped cereals now has more than one specific purpose. Similar to French Toast Crunch, these are tiny little toast cereal pieces with sugar and fruit specks. So far they’ve got both strawberry and blueberry, and we managed to pick up a box relatively cheap recently at a local liquidation store.
We Can Do It Better: Taco Bell Cheetos Burrito
It’s been a while since we last took on one of Taco Bell’s stoner-esque mashups, mostly because it’s been hard to keep up with them. Unfortunately for them, seems like their recipe devs may have hit a wall of some sort, given their latest limited edition menu item, the taco-burrito.
A few of their other recent special products were a bit more inspired, however, such as the Cheetos burrito from mid-late 2016. For whatever reason, a bunch of random Cheetos mashup foods appeared on fast food menus, like the Cheetohs mac ‘n’ cheese sticks at Burger King, and Taco Bell also put out a Cheetos crunchwrap too. The burrito version meanwhile is the easiest to put together at home, provided you have some of the cheesy corn snacks on hand.
