Pizza Lab #23: Grilled Caramel Apple Pizza
It’s no secret that we love apples. We’ve made apple cider, apple pancakes, and even apple fries! Hell, I spent the past three weeks reviewing apple ciders. Simply put, apples are the best. Although we’ve dabbled in this combination before, it’s been at least a year since our last one. Of course I speak of an apple pizza. Pizza lab has featured sweet pies with fruit a number of times, so it’s only natural to return to one of our favorite fruits. Plus, it’s actually pretty Fall-themed too, so that makes this post quite timely. Today’s featured Pizza Lab is Grilled Caramel Apple Pizza.
The Snack Report: Mckenzie’s Pumpkin Jack Hard Cider
Halloween is less than a week away. We’re excited, you know it. If you’ve been with us from the beginning of the month, you’ll know I took to reviewing some seasonal hard ciders, the only perfect drink of the Fall (sorry pumpkin ale). While reviewing ciders this month, I decided to save the best for last. A cider so delectable, it’s strong and formidable, yet tastes reminiscent of liquid dessert. The last of our seasonal Fall cider reviews is McKenzie’s Pumpkin Jack Hard Cider.

Recipe Time! Apple Fries
Sometimes we know exactly how we came up with the idea for some of our recipes. This was not one of those times. We can’t remember what inspired us to try making apple fries, just that one day they appeared on our list of food experiments. Though it isn’t a stretch to assume that it originated out of Erik’s love of apples. And boy am I glad we did come up with this idea. These may be one of my new favorite fall desserts. Crisp on the outside, soft on the inside…sweet, tart…they’re so many awesome combinations in one.
Burger King has apple fries, but we all know they’re not really fries. They’re just apple sticks. They just call them apple fries to trick small children into eating fruit. These, my friends…these are apple fries.
These apples know their destiny, and they are proud to accept that fate.
The Snack Report: Strongbow Honey & Apple Hard Cider
So it looks like we’re in the thick of Fall now. That can mean only one thing; every food and drink gets a seasonal makeover with pumpkin spice and cinnamon variants! Okay, maybe not EVERY one, but it is a time-honored tradition for companies to crank out Autumnal varieties of their products and packaging from September to December. Don’t get me wrong, it’s silly but it’s still pretty tasty in the end. As celebration of the season, I’ll be taking a look at some seasonal exclusives of my favorite drink of all time, hard cider. Specifically, this post focuses on Strongbow Honey & Apple Hard Cider.
