Cheat Codes: Eggless Chocolate Chip Cookies

Picture the scene: It’s midnight.  An adorable mid-20s couple wanders into the kitchen in their PJs with the intent of making chocolate chip cookies.  Then, disaster; they discover that they are out eggs.  How this happened, no one knows.  But there’s nothing that can be done about it now.  What do they do?  Do they give up on having cookies?  Do they go to bed without dessert?  No!  They adapt!

"But what did they do?" asks the little bird.

Smoothie Sunday: Strawberry Kiwi Smoothie

I have to say, kiwi strawberry is one of my favorite fruit flavor combinations.  I greatly enjoy both strawberries and kiwis on their own, so combining them is magic.  It’s sweet, it’s tart and considering the health benefits of both, it’s incredibly good for you.  This is an especially good time of year to make smoothies featuring strawberries because you can get them nice and fresh from local farm stands or farmers’ markets.

Smoothie Sunday: Blueberry Peach Smoothie

Welcome to the second edition of Smoothie Sunday.  I stumbled upon this fruit combo accidentally last year when I went to make a blueberry strawberry smoothie and found the last of the strawberries had been eaten.  It ended up being a good thing though, since this quickly became one of my favorite smoothies.  I’m not even the biggest fan of peaches, but something about this combo just really works.

Here's what you'll need.

The Snack Report: Chips Ahoy! Birthday Frosting Filled Cookies

Last week I reviewed one of Chips Ahoy!’s new chewy filled cookie flavors – Oreo crème filled.  This week I’ll take a look at the second new flavor – Birthday Frosting.  From the outset we were more skeptical of this flavor.  Frosting can be a wonderful thing, but many times mass produced frosting is filled with chemicals and just tastes weird and fake.  So we didn’t have much hope for the frosting that filled these cookies.  But we tried them anyway, for you, dear readers (and also just because we really like cookies).
