Smoothie Sunday: Blueberry Peach Smoothie

Welcome to the second edition of Smoothie Sunday.  I stumbled upon this fruit combo accidentally last year when I went to make a blueberry strawberry smoothie and found the last of the strawberries had been eaten.  It ended up being a good thing though, since this quickly became one of my favorite smoothies.  I’m not even the biggest fan of peaches, but something about this combo just really works.

Here's what you'll need.

Here’s what you’ll need.

Blueberry Peach Smoothie:

  • 1 large peach, pitted and skin removed
  • ½ cup blueberries
  • 1 5.3 oz. greek yogurt (vanilla, blueberry, or peach flavor)
  • 6 ice cubes
  • 1 -2 tbsp. honey
  • Pinch of salt

Add the ice cubes, fruit, and yogurt to the blender.  Blend until all the ice is smooth.  Add the rest of the ingredients and blend until ingredients are well mixed and everything seems smooth, a couple more minutes.  I recommend starting with 1 tbsp of honey, blending, tasting, and then adding more as needed.  How much sweetener you’ll need depends largely on how sweet your fruit was to start, and just personal sweetness preferences.

I didn't coordinate blue-ish smoothie to blue glass on purpose, I swear.
